In the US, 7 out of 10 pedestrian accidents occur when it’s dark and our mission is to bring that number down.
We design, manufacture and sell funflector®, North America’s premier brand of safety reflectors for walking, running and biking. The reflectors come in all colors, even black, and many fun shapes and designs. Yet, they are all ultra-bright and help drivers see you from over 500 feet (150m).
We do most manufacturing in-house here in Illinois and we go out of our way to find parts made in the USA. However, occasionally, we take help from experienced manufacturers in Sweden and Finland.

Our Story
glimling.com LLC has sprouted from the dream of making the world a better place as well as the desire to build a healthy business. It’s important to us that the products we offer are well designed, looks attractive and have a purpose beyond the decorative. Inspired by a European lifestyle of walking and biking and Scandinavian design ideals, Swedish native Elisabeth Hubbard launched the funflector® brand of stylish safety reflectors in 2010. Since 2020, there is also a European sister webshop servicing the German and Dutch market: funflector.de.
As you can see in our blog and on other social media, we are obsessed with pedestrian safety, healthy & green lifestyles, good design, science and good laughs. The world is our home and multicultural is our norm and we thought the world was with us. However, with Brexit and the US election 2016, the world took a different path. Kindness, fairness, equality and inclusiveness should not be political, but since it is, we are not being quiet. Through our line of human rights reflectors, we donate all of our proceeds to a few high-profile organizations.
Elisabeth and her family have the fortune to live and work in walking and biking friendly Evanston, IL. Cafes, small and large shops, Lake Michigan and public transportation are just a short walk or bike ride away. They are still the new kids on the block and are looking forward to explore the neighborhood in more detail. The funflector journey began in the more northern Chicago suburb, Libertyville, where the cute streets of the Heritage area are very dark at night. On one dark fall night, her husband was happy to be alive after a driver, right after having made an illegal turn, dodged him last second thanks to a safety reflector on an umbrella.
